Employee Free Choice Act
H.R.1409 & S. 560, the undemocratic Employee Free Choice Act, have been introduced in Congress. The House bill contains 223 co-sponsors - seven fewer than when the bill was last introduced in 2007, while the Senate bill contains 40 co-sponsors - 6 fewer than in 2007. If it passes President Obama has committed to signing the Employee Free Choice Act into law.

Subject: Oppose Undemocratic Employee Free Choice Act
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
As a Kentucky voter in your district I am writing to ask that you oppose the EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT.
The mislabeled Employee Free Choice Act replaces the current NLRB supervised private ballot election process that permits an employee to vote in private when deciding whether or not to have a union. With a "card check" system under the bill it only requires a union to get more than 50 percent of employees to sign a card and bypass the private ballot election process - this is simply not the right way to determine whether employees truly wish to have union representation!
I support your vote to STOP this legislation!
Sincerely,
|
